چکیده

This work focuses on the use of carbon-coated magnetic cobalt ferrite nanoparticles as catalysts for catalytic wet peroxide oxidation (CWPO) emerging concern pollutant paracetamol (PCM). The core catalyst is composed CoFe2O4 developed by a sol-gel method. subsequently coated with formaldehyde-resorcinol resin and TEOS, further carbonized at 600 ºC, etched NaOH to create yolk-shell structure denoted CoFe2O4@void@C. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transformed infra-red (FTIR) analysis revealed that uncoated cubic spinel crystallite size 53 nm calculated using Williamson-Hall (W-H) method, matching very well average observed TEM (53.51 4.2 nm). Comparing performances CoFe2O4@void@C bare in CWPO paracetamol, total organic carbon (TOC) removals 58% 46% are obtained respectively after 24 h reaction. An empirical kinetic model based second-order autocatalytic expressions was suitably describe decomposition H2O2 removal catalyst. disappearance TOC well-described (r2 = 0.98) lumped sum TOCA, TOCB TOCC, where TOCA PCM, refers intermediate products TOCC final during PCM.

Catalytic wet oxidation has proved to be effective at eliminating hazardous organic compounds, such as phenol, from waste waters. However, the lack of active long-life oxidation catalysts which can perform in aqueous phase is its main drawback. This study explores the ability of bimetallic supported catalysts to oxidize aqueous phenol solutions using air as oxidant. Combinations of 2% of CoO, F...

The concern about the fate of pharmaceutical products has raised owing to the increasing contamination of rivers, lakes and groundwater. The aim of this paper is to evaluate two different processes for paracetamol removal. The catalytic wet air oxidation (CWAO) of paracetamol on activated carbon was investigated both as a water treatment technique using an autoclave reactor and as a regenerativ...
